Dr. Kirienko

Dr. Kirienko was born on March 28, 1959 in Raychikhinsk – a city in Far Eastern Russia, 7000 km from Moscow. From 1981 to 1982 he worked as a registered nurse in Blagoveshchensk Regional Hospital.

In 1982 Dr. Alexander Kirienko graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Blagoveshchensk, the capital of Amur Oblast. He obtained a further degree in 1993 from the Università Statale in Milan, where – after one year as an intern at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan – he also he obtained his professional qualification.

From 1982 to 1987 he worked as a surgeon in the “Hand and Foot Pathology” department of Professor Ilizarov’s Orthopaedic and Trauma Centre in Kurgan, a city in western Siberia. From 1983 to 1985, while still in Kurgan, he attended a course in Patent Legislation at the City University.

From 1988 to 1992, again while still in Siberia, he worked as a consultant in the “Hand and Foot Pathology” Department of Professor Ilizarov’s Orthopaedic and Trauma Centre.

From 1994 he worked for the G. I. Ilizarov Scientific Association, based in Berbenno, in the province of Sondrio.

Since 2001 he has headed up the of external fixation and bone elongation section of the Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, in the province of Milan, and from 2002 he has worked as a freelance consultant at the Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute in Milan, something he also undertook at the San Raffaele Hospital between 1998 and 2002.

Since 2008 he has been visiting and carrying out surgical procedures in Rome, at the “Villa Stuart” Nursing Home.
